Core Direct Observation and Analysis Product Description
Two separate but compatible programs, data collection and data analysis , are made available to collect and analyze direct observation data.
All platforms are Windows based and compatible with all Windows based operating systems (e.g., Windows ’95, ’98, ’00, NT, XP, etc.).
The collection program enables the recording of start and stop times of multiple mutually exclusive or overlapping events as they naturally occur. Recording can be implemented in the live setting or by use of videotape records. Multiple different observation systems may be used with the same product by predefining keys on the keyboard and then saving a particular observation system file. Each predefined observation system for a particular application is represented on screen for data collection ease. An observation system file manager for multiple observation systems, and a file manager for multiple data files for each observation system is also contained in the program.
The analysis program enables the viewing and manipulation of individual data files, and logically ordered data file groupings or collections, in tabular, graphic, and hierarchical formats. Analyses range from descriptive statistics, to narrative analyses, to sequential analyses, to a variety of graphic representations. Data file editing, clipboarding to other statistical and graphic editing programs, printing, and other data file manipulation functions are also included.
